Byron Bay travel tips – the lovely @shaantix gives us her favourite things to do in Byron!
EAT
Brekky | The General Store There is always the most beautiful vibe here! I love watching everyone come and go, you can get a glimpse of the friendly Byron Community and the food, smoothies and warm drinks are delicious!
Lunch | Leaf and Grain I recommend going here for lunch, they have an incredible range of cabinet food/ salads and yummy coffee! I love grabbing a takeaway from here and then hitting one of Byrons beautiful beaches for a little picnic, lunch outside and by the sea is always a great idea!
Dinner | Japonaise Kitchen I go here at least once a week and more if I can! The food here is so tasty, especially the Vegetarian Ramen, the best i’ve had! It’s small and cosy, with cute interior and little quirks around the restaurant, a Byron gem for sure!
VISIT
The beaches in Byron Bay are extremely beautiful! Wategos and broken head are definitely my favourites to go to. The waterfalls in the hinterland are also a must see, Killen falls is nice and close and not a long walk with a stunning view and Wyan Wyan is also one of my favourites, and for the slightly more adventurous people, you can jump off the rocks there!
DO
I recommend going to the beaches and waterfalls first, refresh your mind and body with a little nature therapy, It’s what Byron Bay is famous for! Then of course a little retail therapy, Byron is home to some of the most beautiful brands and the town centre is full of gorgeous boutiques that you can visit, learn more about your favourite brands and of course…Treat yourself! There is also plenty of quirky little stores around and a stunning bookstore! Then when the sun is setting, you must experience a sunset by ‘the wreck’, at the main beach of Byron at around 5:30 pm, people from all walks of life gather to celebrate yet another day, with a drum circle and dancing, it’s definitely something you should see! I would then have a drink in town , there is so many bars and nice places to head for a cocktail or two in town, Bang Bang, The Balcony and No bones are my favourite places for small bite to eat and a pretty cocktail with friends.
Then of course ending the night with a stroll through the main square of byron, you’re bound to find some incredible musicians doing what they do best and performing for people walking by. Oh, and maybe a sneaky Gelato because you can, at Bella Rosa.
